In the Summer of 1912 rich silver deposits were discovered in the Humboldt Range of west-central Nevada.  Hundreds of miners flocked to Rochester Canyon.  With their families, they established two communities (Upper and Lower Rochester) which, like the ore bodies below ground, eventually withered and died. But for one heady decade between 1912 and 1922, the mines of Rochester ranked second in yearly output among Nevada’s silver districts, bested only by phenomenal production from Tonopah area mines.  Rochester is an easy place to visit and still has enough ruins to make it worthwhile.

Paperback, 32 pages, 8.5 x 11 inches. This book contains maps and numerous photographs, both early ones and others taken recently. Includes a directory of businesses and people.
